A Monarch Arises

Here’s a follow-up photo series to an earlier blog of Monarch butterfly caterpillars. Since that blog, quite a few of the caterpillars have metamorphosed into butterflies. One of the last caterpillars produced a chrysalis a week ago, and I thought some here might enjoy seeing the pupa's development and emerging butterfly.

I guess that my milkweed plants fostered 8 to 10 adult monarch butterflies this year. I look forward to many more next year.

Thanks for stopping by.

Best wishes,

Bob
