Coneflowers in the soft light of the morning

It's July 4th, Independence Day, and the forecast called for rain, lots of rain. I awoke to high clouds and diffuse light, perfect for photographing the coneflowers that have started to emerge in my gardens. Armed with my camera and a mug of coffee, I ventured into my gardens to capture these images.

Well, the forecast was right on the mark: the rain started about 30 minutes before our 4th of July parade, which went on despite the downpour. The Catonsville fireworks have been postponed until Tuesday (July 5th), weather pending. Let's hope the weather turns pleasant, and (on the subject at hand), I hope you enjoyed these images.

Best regards,
