I have been a photographer since my early teens, starting with simple Kodak “Brownie” style cameras, and then borrowing my father’s Argus 35mm rangefinder and accompanying light meter. In high school, I received a Canon FT 35mm SLR and 50 mm f1.2 lens as a gift, and used that camera and Canon lenses for nearly 30 years. I move to digital photography in 2000, and my interest in capturing evocative images has continued to grow exponentially ever since.
Throughout my photography life, I have always been fascinated with nature, and specialize in landscapes, nature, wildlife, and flowers. More recently, I began to experiment with photographing pets, doing informal portraits, street photography, interior room photography, and time-lapse video. I love to learn new photographic and processing techniques to produce one-of-a-kind, beautiful photographs that others enjoy and appreciate. Most of my photos are minimally processed, although, when required, I have added a bit more retouching to bring out the emotional impact of an image. (See, for example, “Pigpen Pond on a Late July Evening” in my ‘Nature – Landscape’.)
My current equipment includes a Canon 7D DSLR and Canon 24-70mm f2.8, Canon 70-200 f2.8, and Tokina 12-16mm f2.8 lenses. I use Yongnuo speedlites and radio remotes for portable artificial lighting, along with a variety of light modifiers for effect. Camera support is provided by a Gitzo Series 3 tripod and Really Right Stuff Ballhead and macro focusing rail, for macro photography. I use circular polarizing, ND1000, and variable neutral density filters in my landscape imagery.
I process my photographs using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and occasionally use Photomatix software for HDR. LR Timelapse is used for time-lapse video capture, and Adobe Lightroom, Premier and After Effects for processing videos.
I am available for free-lance photographic work in and around the Baltimore-Washington DC area. If your business requires photography, please check with me by filling out the form on my Contact page. Photographs in my galleries will be for sale in the very near future, and pricing information for all services will be posted on my Sales – Service page. I expect that this information will be available very soon. Thank you for your patience.
My goal is to create images that capture the moment and its emotions, that bring enjoyment and awe when viewed, and added value to your company’s business.
All my best,
